Mission
In association with the Community Health Improvement Center (CHIC) of Decatur, Illinois, Coles Community Health Program seeks to bring greater access to primary care services in accord with the mission statement above. CHIC currently manages health care facilities in Decatur and Champaign -- both of which are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). These clinics have been successful financially and in their capacity to provide high-quality healthcare.
Community benefit
- reduction of the burden on the hospital emergency department
- improved access to other healthcare providers
- initiation of a $700,000 annual budget infused into the local economy
- employment of 6-8 office support staff and 1-2 nurse practitioners and a part-time medical director.
